Harmonica Lessons for students age 11 to 14 with Evan Kolvoord

This eight week program will help students build a stronger musical aptitude while building beginner skills on harmonica. Students will learn the basics of rhythm, harmony, melody on an instrument that is fun and easy to play. Students will also learn fundamentals of improvisation and blues to suit the idiom often expressed with this instrument. This a great way for students to get started with instrument learning, or to complement skills they may have on other instruments. The program also includes stage opportunities; among them, a late April event at Central Market to include students from several Groundwork Music Project programs, and a full professional band.  Cost of this program includes eight lessons, a harmonica, plus digital and printed content.

Lessons will take place at Blue Lapis Light Studio, 10331 Old Manchaca Rd., in Austin. Dates are February 12, 26, March 4, 18, 25 April 1, 15, 22. All students will be welcomed to participate with a at Central Market, Sunday, April 28th at 5:30 p.m.
