Groundwork and the Arts Fitness Program for Young Children

Groundwork Music Project partners with AFPYC in a hybrid mission to bring music enrichment programs to schools in need and help preschools get the training for accreditation standards. In partnership with AFPYC, GMP has taught classes, trained classroom teachers and published literature, helping teachers better use music in their daily lesson plans.

St. Edward’s Internship Program

Groundwork Board Member and St. Edward’s Education professor Dr. Kris Sloan has helped Groundwork launch an internship program with education students at St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX.

Students in the program help facilitate classroom activities and assist with fundraising events. Most students log in hours well beyond minimum requirements and some have remained involved with GMP after completion of their course hours.

Introducing the Groundwork Music Orchestra

The Groundwork Music Orchestra records and performs songs that are part of the Groundwork lesson plan. With guest appearances in and out of the studio, The Groundwork Music Orchestra shares the quality of its classroom content with the community at large.

Introducing the Groundwork Music Orchestra is the first recording in a series that will be used in the classroom and distributed to families with children in the program. The album features guest appearances from Ben Kweller, David Garza, Guy Forsyth and other renowned musicians. The songs are available for free download at www.thegroundworkmusicorchestra.bandcamp.com.
