Groundwork Music Project is looking forward to another season of ukulele lessons at St. Francis School. These lessons are a lot of fun, and they’re a great way to get started on instrument learning. Not only is this program a lot of fun, but we often hear back from families with former students that the programs we provided were a great help when they continued their musical endeavors into middle school and beyond.
Lessons include ukulele play, singing, note reading, and lots of fun songs that kids love to play.
Mr. Dwayne Barnes studied for three years with the renowned ukulele teacher training program created by James Hill, the James Hill Ukulele Initiative. With the tools from this program, Mr. Dwayne offers lessons that are lots of fun and full of engaging content, while also being well designed to help children to develop broader musical skills.
In addition to lessons. Students have opportunities throughout the semester to join our teachers on various stages for events, where professional musicians and students play together. Look for information on our Spring Concert Concert in late April or Early May, as well as monthly play-along events at Cherrywood Coffee House (every second Sunday).
